No, John wanted the ERM sandwich. Bringing Lotus onboard was a last
minute decision when the car he wanted to build didn't work.
Which is the best possible thing that could have happened. I am
convinced that ERM DeLoreans would all have broken in half by now.
However imperfect our frames may be, they are at least frames.
Consider this: Had DMC built its operations in Puerto Rico, how
different would the final product have been? How many parts would have
been sourced from the United States rather than Europe? Would the
vehicle have been fractional instead of metric? Would JZD have turned
to AMC rather than Lotus?
