Jake, Why do you think Houston came out with the angle drive #2 made buy Smiths/Lucas Industries knowing it was bad or going to be bad since nothing was changed. From what I have heard since the last of the old ones and beginning of the new one from the complaints I have heard they all had to be drill tested by Houston before they went out to see if they were going to bind up and then if it didn't they would blame it on something else. So if Houston is watching out for the DeLorean owners then why are these kinds of problems happening. Rob had a product that worked yet when Houston came out with the $99.00 new unit his sales were gone. To me as a vendor owners normally won't pay the higher priced till they have been hit several times on replacements that didn't work and they get desperate. Then only after that are people willing to pay anything to get something that will work if it's critical. Then they had the strut issue: to long, sending unit hitting the bottom of the tank, head light switches that have a problem and this is the company that is going to build a new car in 08. I thought we made this clear before, but the early-version, new drives that I got would frequently bind * in my hand * before placing them on the car. It sounds like DMCH has isolated the problem and will not be an issue on the next batch. In many cases, it is truly another problem within the system. But repairing my original gears, and making no other changes to the system fixed my problem for thousands and thousands of miles.
