[DML] Re: Squealing sound coming from engine bay between 1,000-2,000 RPM

The squealing could be coming from the following sources:
Water pump
Idler bearings
Alternator
A/C clutch
loose belts
You can take off the belts one-at-a-time and see if the noise goes
away. You can run the motor for a few minutes without a water pump.
Noisy bearings are a sign of impending failure. If you have not done
it in a long time (if ever) replace the idler bearings and the belts.
If you have the origional water pump it is probably time to replace
it. If the alternator is making the noise having the bearings and
brushes replaced is no big deal.
