  As far as I know no royalties were paid,(I could be wrong on that)and in fact JZD himself sent out a letter thanking them for choosing the Delorean to have the starring role (car) in the BTTF trilogies,which basically ended the negative spin on the Delorean as the Coke car,and started putting a positive spin as the Time Travel car,I know that as a fact as before the BTTF trilogies came out,I used to get negative comments about my Delorean in those days,after the Trilogies started playing,people would give me the thumbs up and love the car.
