Do you mean the fluorelastometric line popped off? I've never seen
that happen. My experience is that they need to be cut off. I can't
figure out how DMC got them ON the barbs in the first place.
For three or four years I ran K-Jet with *HIGH PRESSURE* rubber hoses
clamped onto the barbs no problem (see the pic uploaded to #5939's
photo album). Be sure to use hose rated for fuel injection --
carburetion hose is only good to 50 PSI or so. My Renault fuel
distributor did not use banjo fittings for the main fuel lines, so
replacement rubber was a necessity (even rubber will weld itself to
the barbs and need to be cut off -- I simply ran new pieces whenever
the fuel/air mixture unit was removed).
The fuel pump lines are actually quite short. Everything under the car
is metal. You can replace them with just a few feet of new *HIGH
PRESSURE* rubber quite easily.
