Paul, Cold start valves very seldom goes out. Most of the time they just
need unclogging to fix them. I have only see one bad in 7 or 8 years but I
have had a lot of people wanting to buy a new one.
On the other hand TTS goes out or more often but again the system can be
checked very easy. Sound's to me like the starter needs replacing.

Subject: [DML] Finicky start issue
I replaced my cold start valve a couple of days ago, because I had to
crank the car more than several times to start it when cold. It
seemed to fix it, but this morning, the car started right up, took it
down the street about a mile to the post office, turned the car off.
When I started it after dropping off my letter, it took several cranks
to start it again. However, the car started fine a few other times
today so far. So I'm not sure what is happening, and why is starts
instantly sometimes (cold or hot), but then after turning it over
several times this morning. Could it be the thermotime switch? I
haven't replaced that yet.
Thanks,
Paul
