Welmoed - What you have done is exactly what I am trying to convey. You
took out old, original-equipment parts and replaced them with something else
and got an improvement.
I don't doubt that you got an improvement.
What you have not shown is any improvement over NEW original-equipment
parts with the parts you put in. Who knows - you might have put in brand
new original equipment parts and got 30 mpg on that tankful instead of the
27 you measured.
