Robert, That was Bill Robertson who did that. Since the car leans to the
back then yes you would have to keep a little more gas in the tank. But this
year I have only had one person email or talk to me about running out of
fuel when cornering or leaning up a hill. 
Think of it this way: we have a flat bottom tank that is mounted in the
front of the cars frame.  If your car is stock then it's up in the front
about 10 degrees allowing gas to go to the back of the tank. My baffle is
right under the pump. So on 2 dollars worth of gas you might have a problem.

Also, the return line feeds back into the baffle and you have a connecting
fuel resistant plastic hose that connects to the filter screen. 
This is the way that almost are car are made today.
The bottom plate is not needed if mounted correctly and a tad more gas is
kept in the tank. It's also equal in position to the fuel sending unit.
