Some of know Claude better than that.
While I agree that the vendors use these "donations"
to save a few dollars on their taxes, I do not think
that is the primary motivation for their support. It
is just a nice (small) bonus.
The point of my original post was to say that I think
our vendors realize that what is best for Delorean
owners (in the long run) will be what is best for them
and their business. In that mindset, I was curious as
to why it seems like many DeLorean owners who find
their way to the vendors out of need (to keep their
car running) are not well informed about the local
clubs.... Because it has been demonstrated that
people that participate in the clubs are more likely
to use and maintain their cars.
My comments were supposed to appeal to the BUSINESS
aspect of our vendors. That is, increasing membership
in the clubs will help your bottom line.... Even if
that means they need to donate more items to the club
for those HUGE tax incentives to offset the additional
profits :)
