I went to Pep Boys today and bought the sealed beam silver star lights. They claim to be just like HID lights. Well I can tell you they are whiter and brighter...but like HID; no way. I have an '05 Volvo and an '07 Corvette both with Xenon HID and the Silver Star cannot even compete. I put the new light in and compared to the old stock light. Yes the difference was very dicernable. My main problem is that with the old stock lights is that they were dim and on the road all I had was 2 dots. Now with the new Silver Star lights I have 2 bright dots. I think this may be an aiming problem and my light brackets are a rusted mess. Can these lights from the 80s be aimed so that the road in front of the car from left to right is equally lit or is the 2 dots normal?
