I think Puerto Rico would have been an unmitigated disaster. DMC would have continued down the ERM rabbit hole, Lotus likely would not have been brought on board, engine choices would have been North American (let's be honest -- none of the Big 4 were making performance small blocks in the 1970's), and we would have ended up with very different automobiles. The DeLo's we know and love are not perfect, but they could have been a lot worse.
