Darryl,
did you check the idle speed thermistor that is screwed into the Y
pipe under the intake manifold? A failed thermistor or a loose
connection will instantly make the car idle at 2000+ rpm. Inside the
car, take the wood off the parcel tray behind the driver's seat and
unplug and meter between pins 9 and 11 on the right connector going to
the black idle ECU. It should not be an open circuit. A cold engine
should measure about 10k ohms. If you meter an open circuit, you found
the problem!
Don't give up on the K-jet. It's a real simple and reliable system if
you cover all of the basics.
