I use WD40 all the time and have no problems with Dust etc.
I find that you need to spray it on though wipe it off and then give it
another polish off with another clean cloth.
It is so easy to polish up that Ive seen me cleaning the entire car at car
shows etc. WD40 is also very good for the black plastic parts of the car
too.

ps: I have also used a top coat polish on the Delorean in the past and it
gave a really nice finish. Quite unusual to see water beading of the car
too.
