If the pan is bent it is easily straightened by hitting it carefully with a hammer against a piece of 2 X 4. Like valve covers (not Delorean valve covers) they are made out of thin sheet metal and get bent but are easily straightened. Check that all of the pan bolts are the same, correct length. I have seen where some longer ones get substituted because they lost or stripped some. It gets tight but never tightens up the pan. If the case has any stripped holes they can be fixed with a thread insert. Tighten them evenly with an alternating pattern. If the pan leaks never try to stop the leak by overtightening the bolts. You will just bend the pan and crush the gasket. After straightening the pan sand it and paint it gloss black, it will look like new. Be sure to clean and reinstall the magnet. The front appears to be dry. The leak is no higher than the gasket, surrounds 3/4 of the pan, and spreads down the casing of the transmission until it drips off before getting to the oil pan. I'm hoping the pan is not bent anywhere and that I'm just dealing with at worst a split gasket. That said, I'm hopeful that if the pan is bent I can get a new one from DMCH. > > Thanks again for the comments, fellas. > > Chris > > > --------------------------------- > Ready for the edge of your seat?
