That's one area of the car that doesn't require a lot of tourqe. If you get
them too tight, you will split the cork gasket and it will leak no matter
how much tightening you do.
This is what I was told to do (and did):
Finger tighen all of the bolts and give them 1/2 to 3/4 turn with a wrench.
No leaks.
If you split your gasket, you will have to drain your transmission and start
over again if you want to stop the leaking in that area.
