Though my experience with the D and showing the car is still young 
and fresh, I found that people in Europe behave properly and 
respectfully when looking at the car. Even when invited to try the 
driver's seat they are often reluctant to do so.
Concerning children: I do select them (being accompanied by parents) 
too and often invite them to sit down for a picture to be taken by a 
parent. No problems there as they usually first look at the parent 
for consent.
Touching is something that comes with the territory (kind of bling-
bling?), as is answering to questions asked, and I do not mind wiping 
the car at the end of such a day.

I agree with David that there is a not much change in behavior of 
most people, only some may need minor correction. Fortunately I have 
not yet met those that need it.
I also enjoy the fun of having such a special car.
I only regret not having been able to own one while being younger, 
but that's life!
