[DML] Cleaning a Delorean Engine

On a recent detail of my Delorean, I decided not to
'water down' the engine for fear of getting water in
the wrong areas (read: the solid covered areas under
the 'hood').  I'm curious how people shine up the
engine, clean off the dirt, etc. without water or
potential damage to the compartment.
