In a word: No. Think left handed and right handed threads on a pair of bolts - they're twisted in opposite directions. With thanks to a good friend on this list, I recently tracked down a few driver side torsion bars but I've now found the broken end of the one that came with my project car so I'm taking a punt and having it welded. So far 3 successes and no failures but also no guarantees...
