I have read with great interest about torsion bars. Hard to believe that Houston doesn't stock them. As for the welding, yes they can be welded. Steel of any kind can be welded. All that is required is that the proper rods, and procedure is used. A good welder who is qualified with the rod and procedure can make the weld and with proper post heat treatment and skill the weld will be as strong or stronger than the rest of the rod. Welding is what I have done for a living for over 40 years. I am not a great Delorean repair man but I can weld.
