Well, to make a long story short within 2 months I had to pay Delorean
One Motors of Los Angeles, CA almost $20,000 for repairs. The car was
a chop job and all the major systems and components had to be
replaced. I've just spent another $3,000 in repairs for more things
that popped up and now I have a fuel system issue. I haven't even
begun to refurb the interior (I want to replace the seats and carpet).>>

That's very disheartening, but any 26 year old car can eat cash. I do have 2
suggestions... first, if you can drive and enjoy the car without spending
another $3000., do it while you catch your breath, financially. Second, try
taking your DeLorean to DMC in Garden Grove, CA next time. Don has been doing
DeLoreans longer than anyone, including Ed of D1, and unlike Ed, I'm sure he
can fix it without replacing components en masse.
Be aware that Ed of DeLorean One won't take care of anyone who doesn't
devote every penny of their DeLorean work and parts purchases to him cheerfully
and exclusively, so if you go somewhere else you can never go back. (I know
firsthand, as do many others.) But having mentioned him in your posting, though
not critically, Ed still might find it unflattering. He does read the DML
scrupulously... so he's already ticked at you now anyway. Nobody ever complains
about the quality of D1's work, though... if money is no object. Many people
love the place.
