Interesting question. I just installed a brand-new-from-the. box louver
on a car here. I was amazed at how rough the finish is. It seems to me
that if you do ANYTHING to it other than gentle water washing, it is
going to get glossier. It feels and looks like about #300 sandpaper.
It would be an interesting finish to try and duplicate accurately.
Probably have to spray on a flat black laquer from a longer than normal
distance so it starts drying as it lays down.
If one of these has ever been buffed, waxed, or armor-alled the finish
is wrong.
