Mr. Funk:
I had both systems on my DeLorean. I first had replaced the OEM
front springs with PJ Grady's front springs when he had them made up
and sold them some many years ago. I also had his four shocks
installed (that he had engineered and sold) all at the same time. I
believed I had this combination on my car for over seven years of
daily driving. This combination worked well until the shocks had
slowly developed leaks and the front springs had sagged to which it
made driving in NYC's roads a major challenge from bottoming out.
So, last year of 2006, I had all the shocks and the springs
completely replaced with Eibach Springs and DMCH's shocks system that
are the rave of the DeLorean community. Sadly, the Eibach's front
springs didn't last more then six months and the Eibach front springs
had started to SERIOUSLY sagged even beyond Rob's springs. The
DeLorean front end was very low.
Rob at PJ Grady was baffled at the situation of both of the springs
and suggested that the OEM springs should be reinstalled or to have
spacer shims made and to be installed along with the present Eibach
springs on my DeLorean. To have the spacer shims to be made was
turned down by several machinists and the cost to producer them was
not cost effective and I needed my DeLorean back on the road ASAP.
It was cost effective and time wise for me as to purchase a new pair
of front springs to which I have gotten Rob's LAST pair of front
springs that he had put away and saved. I do believe he doesn't
have any more of his springs in stock and he had reluctantly sold me
his last pair.
Anyway, I got my car back from Rob last Thursday and the car rides
and handles great! IMO, the combination of both suspension systems
with Rob's front springs and the Eibach's rear springs with DMCH
shocks all around plus the Michelin Pilots tires, is the BEST RIDE
and HANDLING in my eleven years of daily driving with my DeLorean.
The ride is nice and comfortable. It is not hard-hitting and bumpy
on the road as the with the other combinations. I Luv It!!!
I am looking forward to see the many of the Mid-Atlantic members this
weekend at the Spring Social of 2007.
