The gift shop was pretty much emptied out on Friday. I was going to
buy some stuff later in the day and when I went back it was all gone
except for some kid's size shirts, the DVD's, some pins, keychains,
and a pile of a cr-ppy Polar lights snap-together model. The pickin's
where much better on Saturday. I had asked Friday if they had any
stuff left in the back and they said no. I guess they were saving it
for the weekend. I figured they were going to close the gift shop
along with the ride. The ride is boarded up, the sign is down, but the
Delorean is by the gift shop and you can still see the train. Watch
E-Bay. Several of the ride people said that there would be stuff up on
it soon. Shirts, Lab coats, personal stuff the employees had, etc.
There was a contingent of Delorean people there for one of the last
rides. The offical "Last Ride" was for the employees after the park
closed. One of us said he has pretty much documented the ride in
stills and video and the gift shop in CA still is selling stuff so it
is not completly "dead". The one in Japan is still running but it's in
Japanese!
