RE: [DML] Starting problem?

Cory, With battery hooked up that long and the drain going on, you may have
magnetized the start relay so the contacts don't click on .
Replace it and try again. If that doesn't work then the starter is most
likely froze up. I have new rebuilt in stock for $189.95 with a 5 year
warranty.

Subject: [DML] Starting problem?

Hi all...

OK, here's the situation. I put the D in the garage for "winter
hibernation" sometime in December when the first snow started
falling here in Chicago. I started her up in the garage once in the
first week of January, but not since. When I started it up in
January, I forgot to disconnect the battery again when I was done
and it sat until yesterday untouched.

I went out to start it again, and nothing happened. No interior
lights or anything. I realized I left the battery hooked up and
remembered hearing somewhere before that DeLoreans have a quirk for
draining batteries really fast if the car sits for a while. So, I
tested the battery and found that it was dead and unfit to hold a
charge, which sucks because that battery was only a year old. So I
bought a new battery and hooked it up. Still, the car wont turn.
The interior lights and everything work now, so I'm guessing the
battery is no longer the problem.

The engine wont even try to turn over. I turn the key and
absolutely nothing happenes.

Could it be the starter? What do you guys think?

Corey
