When I recovered my seats, I used a published guide that was several pages
long. So it's a bit difficult to cover all the steps here. :) Most of the
process is pretty straight forward as you will see how the seat cover is
installed when you remove the old one. Here are a couple of tips you may
find useful:
-Get some hog ring pliers. I found one for $8 at an Ace hardware. Much
easier to use then regular pliers.
-Use 4 inch zip ties for the ribs between the head and back rests. Hog
rings are nearly impossible in such a tight space.
-Use 7 inch zip ties and large washers for the seat bottom ribs. The
original plastic ties will probably break when removing them. Just make
sure the washer is big enough in the middle for the zip tie to go through,
but small enough so the locking end won't go through.
-When installing the seat back, make sure the sides are pulled tight all
the way down. Otherwise you may end up with some foam padding at the bottom
not being fully covered.
Good luck. It's a frustrating job at times, but not terribly difficult.
