I remember when the "World's Fastest DeLorean" was built and featured
in one of the hot rod/street rod magazines.  This was waaaay back in
the early/mid 80's.  Gale Banks did quite a number on that car. 
Obviously the owner had more money than he knew what do with!  Other
than for the block, hardly anything was even close to stock.  If I
remember correctly, it was rated at around 700 hp - flywheel of course.  

There was absolutely no comparison between that engine and the engine
they started with.
