Finding parts in the driveway is "not a good thing". That "U" shaped thing is probably one of the shims (washers) from a trailing arm bolt. It probably loosened up, stretched, broke, or bent. In any case it is now dangerous to drive the car. You need to get a set of trailing arm bolts and have the car aligned by a good shop capable of a 4 wheel alignment. Wouldn't hurt to also order a kit of shims. Before you go planning upgrades or changes to your suspension system you really should get the car into good operating condition. You may find you are happy with the stock stuff as long as it is working correctly (a lot cheaper too). Another thing to consider when lowering the car is getting in and out of driveways. You may scrape and get caught in dips, curbs, and potholes. Depends on how the roads in your area are, around here (NYC area) they are BAD. I found something in my driveway, kind of u shape metal, plus I have this problem of my rear passenger wheel bouncing , like its going to fall off when I hit bump. I'm preparing to replace the shocks, but this problem of the wheel literally moving, seems like more than a shock. Trailing arm bolt?
