I chose an Alpine IVA-310R (the light from it can be set green or red) or the IVA-310RB gives a nice blue light. http://tinyurl.com/du7dr Before the install I had the original Craig stereo. Once I had carefully opened up the din area to accommodate the new standard size I was extremely impressed with the colour match of the new unit and that it looked like it was installed from day one. The subtle chrome strip and chrome dial helped make the unit look more in keeping with the age of the car. The screen can be programmed to move out more from the head unit horizontally at the base as well as then opening up vertically. This creates about a good inch and a half (or more) for the air flow so as not to be restricted by the screen. By being closer to the driver you can rest your hand on the gear shift and operate the screen with your finger. You can also close the screen whilst driving if you need that initial blast of hot/cold air in the face. Another aspect was that the stereo surround covers the top of the aircon panel seamlessly and therefore blocks out any light that used to ooze out above the panel. In summary it isn't the cheapest system, but the screen is impressive and then you can also add a camera/sat nav/ iPod and more. Regards Chris Hawes Vin 5255 ..Does anybody have personal experience with installing an in-dash DVD player in their Delorean? I was thinking of buying one with a flip-up screen (yes, I know it will block the center AC vents but that doesn't really bother me) and was wondering if anybody could recommend a model or two? Low-end, high-end, all suggestions are welcome. Just as long as it will fit in the radio mounting bracket correctly. Feel free to email me off-line.
