I've got a similar problem. Only on my car, it's just the passenger door lights switch that was sparking and causing a problem. Lawrence Lormand of Dearborn, MI helped me test the door wires and we picked up a charge all through the door wiring. So it's probably up in the roof harness or something. (grumble, complain, swear, colorful words.) The odd thing was, my fuse didn't blow either. And every other one of my D's lights work just fine, including the driver gullwing lights. (With the exception of the reverse lights, but that's a different topic; I know why too- M/T switch replacement time.) The oddest thing was, the passenger side switch would arc and cause sparking on anything, the door steel, the hood, even the wiper blade arms. So something's grounding out somewhere. I dunno, I have common sense, but I'm no electrician, I'll probably have to check out the main wiring harness. I only had my rear harness reinsulated and repaired/soldered. -John Rydholm Weston, MO VIN#10715 5-Speed '82 Grey Int.
