If the clutch is slipping there is not much you can do about it short of removing the transmission and replacing the clutch. The clutch is actuated by a hydraulic cylinder, the clutch itself is purely mechanical. If you are replacing the clutch you should consider also doing the following: open the transmission and check the pins in the shifter forks, especially the 1-2 shifter reseal the transmission check the 5th speed shifter fork to see if it is bent replace the throw-out AND pilot bearings replace the clutch slave cylinder (nad probably the master cylinder) replace the clutch line (only if it is NOT the steel-braided one) Replace the clutch plate AND pressure plate Cut the flywheeel only if necessary disassemmble, clean, relube, the 4 C/V joints and replace the boots. As you can see this can get involved and expensive. If you are not capable of this kind of work you will need to find a shop that can do it for you. Parts are not a problem, the labor is. BTW once you do get the car going then you will find other problems so you can't blow your whole budget on the clutch! I would pull the transmission and the clutch and see what is going on before I would order any parts. Maybe, if the car was sitting a long time, things just need to be cleaned up inside. I have seen where clutches get stuck just because of rust and then slip. Once you take it all apart it will be obvious what you will need and you can get all of this stuff fairly quickly from the Delorean vendors.
