For someone without a "dog in the fight" you stepped right in :-)
Chris, your opinion aside, our actual hands-on experience with what
we're seeing on the cars we work on regularly here doesn't jibe with
what you've stated. If there was a pattern of them failing as you
suggest, we certainly wouldn't be exposing ourselves to the warranty
claims. The truth is that there are no reports of NOS compressors
failing or leaking at the seals. Indeed, most leaks come from other
areas in the system after a new compressor is installed.
In regards to the vendor bashing, another DML'er forwarded me this
"blast from the past" in the archives from about 3 years ago.
