[DML] Re: Starter issue



Check out the starter interlock system. You did not say if you have an
automatic or 5-speed. On the 5-speed the interlock system is jumpered
out but a bad connection can still disable the circuit. On an
automatic the starter control system goes into the combo switch on the
transmission. A misadjusted shift cable or a bad switch could be
causing your problem. You need to see if there is 12 volts on the
control wire at the starter when you turn the key to the start
position. It is also possible you have a bad starter solenoid or a
worn out starter.
