This will be absoulutely fine -IF- the piston's on firing stroke, 
otherwise you'll bend the valves. Also it ain't easy to get down those 
spark plug wells. I've known engine mounts rip against a flywheel 
locking tool doing this job and would guess that your conrod might not 
like it too much at that kind of torque either. You also need to know 
the rope isn't going to leave and bits behind.

On balance, no - wouldn't dream of it.
