They better be. With the rack in place you cannot open the rear 
louver. 

The rack his held on by 4 thumbscrews that you just unscrew and then 
lift the rack off. The 4 attachment clamps pivot down and hide under 
the louver when not in use, so with the rack off the car you can't 
see anything unless you look carefully thru the side rear windows.
