As Dave says this will probably be tossed around forever but I can tell you what the various cars would have been called when I worked for Ford. Proto1 and the destroyed Proto2 would be concept cars. The sliding window car or cars with interior trim differences would be prototypes and the early pre-production vin numbers would be pilot cars. The Fiat would be just what Dave called it, a test mule. Bruce Benson >> Bill (or the editor of SSI) can call it anything he likes, he can call >> an apple an orange too. It was a Fiat with a Fiat VIN, with some other >> engine. It was an engineering test mule by any other name. >> >> This is turning into a semantics argument that won't ever resolve. >> >> Dave To address comments privately to the moderating team, please address: moderators@xxxxxxxxxxx For more info on the list, tech articles, cars for sale see www.dmcnews.com To search the archives or view files, log in at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dmcnews Yahoo!
