Thanks for all the help, folks. I've never replaced the low beam bulbs, but I'll have a look. Given that they seem to work as prescribed when I pull the wand towards me, I'm more suspicious of the switch, but now that I know how it's _supposed_ to work I can start experimenting with the multimeter... Just to confirm: Are you saying that the wand-pull and wand-push behaviors should result in identical eletrical output? Or is there any chance that pulling the wand turns on _all_ of the filaments?
