You are :-)

The fans pull air thru the radiator toward the gas tank. 

Turn on the ignition and turn on the A/C. You should be able to reach 
under the front of the car and feel the air moving in that direction 
(don't stick your fingers in the fan!). If y our fans are blowing air 
out the front, the wiring os backwards (possible on an aftermarket fan, 
but the originals are keyed).
