Changing the boots (dust seals) on the tie rod ends won't affect the alignmnet as long as you do not turn the tie rod end on the shaft to the steering rack. If you unscrew the tire rod ends, say to replace the boots on the steering rack, you must put them back EXACTLY or you will change the Toe. If the tie rods are worn/loose, and you replace them you should have an alignment done. To remove the tie rod end mark with a paint spot and count the turns. Put it back exactly as it was and you should be OK.
