I've found a lot of hoses on my car that slightly rub other things. One of
the first things I did when I bought my car was go through and cushion all
of them so as not to cause damage to the important stuff. What to do? Go
to any auto parts store and ask for a couple feet of heater hose. Then cut
it open and make some rubber "patches" in squares. Zip-tie them on with
black zip ties at the rub points and you're all set. The heater hose
matches perfectly, and it absorbs all the rubbing. I inspect mine
periodically, and I'm glad the patch gets all the wear!
