Re: [DML] Brake question

Byron, try this: First, get a large handful of paper towels and stuff
them under the master cylinder. Remove the hard lines attached to the
master cylinder and plug the two holes with your thumbs. Get a buddy
to sit in the driver seat and have him/her SLOWLY press the brake
pedal in to the floor.

You will feel the piston push pressure thru the master cylinder. Have
your partner do it about three times. By the third time, he/she
should not be able to push the pedal hardly at all. You'll need to
kinda lean into it with your thumbs or you will have brake fluid
everywhere.

This will remove any air trapped in the cylinder and un-stick the
piston. You should also check the color of the fluid. If it's amber,
it's time to flush it out.

I don't know if you have tried bleeding your brakes yet or, (if
anything), you have done to your brakes, but this proceedure can help
determine if your master cylinder is shot.
