Thomas - The component that turns the fans on is actually 
the "otterstat", which is the small electrical switch mounted into the 
coolant pipe on the driver's side.  Have you actually measured the 
temperature of the coolant when the gauge is showing just shy of 220 
F?  I suspect that many gauges give false readings (high or low).  We 
have a few local cars that show high temperatures, but they just don't 
*feel* like they are that hot.  We are just in the process of 
introducing our Wings-B-Cool(TM) Adjustable Fan Switch, that allows you 
to set the fan activation temperature anywhere from 180 F to 240 F with 
the twist of a knob.  Perhaps you'd like to be the first offshore 
customer for this upgrade?  Email me off-List if you'd like further 
information.
