Legend has it that the delorean hanging in hawaii is in fact the train
wreck one.. but sadly we all know that no train would wreck a D like
that, so it was (or at least must have been) chopped up.. I cant
provide any proof on this right now.. however I do recall seeing some
literature to back it up that came "from the horses mouth" so to speak
(possibly kevin pike).
