Disconnect all fuel lines and power sources, or just remove them and drain the tank. Then you can remove the bottom plate (if not still off) and through the fuel pump access panel in the trunk, just push it out. It is held in quite well. But it will fall out if you drive it full of gas and no bottom cover plate.
