Greg - An angled head die grinder with abrasive cut-off wheel is a 
convenience for this task, but you can work around not having one.  As 
noted in another response in this thread, there is a file with photos 
showing the operation.  I haven't looked at that file in a while, but 
I'm sure that it works great the way it was done for that article.  The 
automatic makes it a little more complicated, but not overwhelmingly 
so.  You wouldn't have any problems.  For people who don't want to cut 
the old bolt out, all that is required are a few more disassembly steps 
than normal.
