[DML] outer rack?/fuel pump

Hey all,
I was curious, who out there has the external rack, and the full size 
spare? Doesn't that get in the way of rear-view out the sunshade, or 
is it raised up? I'd kind of be worried about someone swiping my tire; 
maybe if they made a cover with a strap kind of like a Jeep's
BTW: I really am glad I got that fuel pump from John Hervey. It works 
great, and I've had no gas smell for quite some time. I also replaced 
the fuel hoses under the car. ...Shame about my trans though. :(
