FWIW, State Farm offers towing insurance for a nominal fee  - I think 
mine is under $5/year -  and will reimburse towing expenses to 
<paraphrasing>  "the nearest facility capable of repairing the 
vehicle."  I've had vehicles towed 100++ miles courtesy of State 
Farm.
