I powdercoated the front and back of mine, along with the thermostat housing :) No leaks at all. I also replaced the gasket while I was in there. It's kind of interesting...I remember one of the original DeLorean brochures I saw once that showed the engine out of the car, and the crank pulley, a/c pulley, and water pump pulley were black.
