It looks like you have made up your mind. Just do this before you start. Check on the prices of some of the parts that go into a Lotus engine. You will be shocked. Also some of the parts (timing belts) are time-lifed meaning they must be changed out. It might mean having to remove the motor to do it. In any case you might want to change them anyway before you install the motor, especially if you cannot be sure of how much life is left in them (meaning how many miles the motor had on it before you got it). BTW pistons are $1200 EACH and there are 8 of them! You may be getting a real deal on this motor because it is basically used up. 45,000 miles on a Lotus engine is a lifetime!
