There is also a drain vavle located towards the bottom of the engine on the passenger side of the car just above the oil filter. The plug is much like the oil drain: it has a recessed square shaped opening for a specialty wrench (or if you have a dremel you can just grind an appropriate sized allen head wrench down). Draining the coolant was this way was very effective when I recently did my upper engine rebuild in which I replaced all of the engine's interal water pipes, hoses, and fittings.
