I would love to drive my D all winter. There is only one reason I 
don't, and that is salt. There is just no way around the inevitable 
cumulative damage that road salt would do to the mild steel frame.

The Pearce Design Stainless steel frame is pricey, but it sure is 
tempting for exactly this reason.
